This is a cool case. It is flat black and unassuming. Yet it has one a really cool trick/feature that sets it apart, which is the ability to use the phone with the cover on. I will get to that later, but only going on appearance this is a very standard, yet nice black case. Razor thin, cover stays completely flat, and the quality you would expect from Samsung. Overall, this is a very understated case. – 8.0
The case is right in the middle. A little bit slippery, but still an improvement over the Note 5 without a case. The cover completely lays flat when folded back making it easy to hold when talking, but because of this case’s see through screen I don’t know if you really even need to fold the cover back for conversations. – 6.0
If protection is what you are after look elsewhere. Again, the flip cover is always a bonus for protection and this is better than nothing, but that is about it. It should handle a moderate fall, but I wouldn’t want to test it. – 6.0
Unlike most flip phones, the molding that holds the Note 5 sides are left open and the top and bottom are used in securing the phone. All the holes are cut right and the audio jack is slightly larger to allow for different headphones which is always a plus. The volume rocker and power button don’t need a cutout, however the volume rocker can be a bit tricky given how close and small the spine of the case is. You almost feel as though you need to fold it all the way back to use the volume, but the good news is the volume is easy to use with the cover closed due to the thinness of the material. Also, for as thin as the case is, the S Pen isn’t the easiest to pull out due to the small cutout, but it isn’t a deal breaker. – 8.0
This is what this phone is all about. You can see through the cover of this phone. Yes, it is blurry and dark, but as you can see from the pictures it is very usable. I could read emails and websites just fine. Obviously it isn’t optimum, but if for some reason being able to use your phone while the cover is shut is important to you, this will get it done. I don’t know why this company doesn’t make a clear case too. Overall, I feel like this is more gimmick than truly useful, but people will definitely ask about it when they see it in action. – 10
Overall it is a nice, simple flip case. It doesn’t look cheap, but it doesn’t look stylish or premium either. The real appeal to this phone is the translucent properties of its cover. This could be a good commuter case if you don’t want people seeing your business, or at least make it much harder to see. Outside of some accessibility issues with the S Pen or the material being a bit slick I don’t really have many objections with it. This phone set out to be able to be used while the cover is shut and they mostly achieved that without sacrificing other important aspects. Definitely not for everybody but those who want an unorthodox case that can either blend in or stand out, this one is pretty cool.
