The Araree Canvas Diary has a very high end feel. Would look good in anyone’s hand. It seems like it would be a natural in a purse. Men will most likely have to carry it in their coats because it would be too big for all but the biggest of pants pockets. The flip cover lies completely flat and folds all the way back for when talking on the phone. I would put the Araree Canvas Diary as one of the top 3 cases I have tested for the Note 5 in terms of overall quality and appearance. – 10
Brand new there is a bit more slip to this case than you would imagine with Canvas, but it also gives it a very high end feel. I would say it is grippy enough that I don’t fear it will slide out of my grasp at any time, but it is not going to be a leader in the class either. – 7.0
It isn’t armor quality but it should be able to take a moderate drop and the flip cover is an automatic screen protector. The actual case is clear plastic that clamps along the sides with cutouts for the volume rocker and power button, while the top and bottom is left mostly open except where the corners edge round off. While I don’t think this is an unsafe case, if protection is your most important criteria, look elsewhere. – 7.5
The cutouts on the side are nicely done and give plenty of space for the biggest of fingers. Since the tops and bottoms are mostly open it is a breeze to access any ports or the S Pen. – 10
It has a single card holder inside which does not add much if any depth to the case. Credit cards prove to fit in very tight, to the point of being difficult to remove. It also has a strap that is of a very nice quality. – 8.0
